So far, we have had NO tsunamis, as the quakes were either too far inland(Milpitas, 2) or very deep under the ocean floor, 1. However, as the glaciersand ice and perma-frost melt at both poles, all oceans world-wide are rising. Now, then the tide goes OUT here, it goes way, way out, and when it comesin, it comes rather far in. This is a global situation, alas, affecting Australiaseverely as its Ozone layer is practically depleted.I could go on, but will spare you all!Love to you, Sharon and to everyone, returnees especially,n

I had wondered which fault was, well....at fault. I always listen to the news to see if a tsunami warning has been issued. We were very, very aware of earthquakes (had many) in Alaska. People in my area of Alaska are also very aware of tsunami danger because there had been a major one with a quake there in '64. In fact, it was the largest quake ever recorded in North America at 9.2. The tsunami was devastating. When I was there the results of the huge tsunami were still evident because it changed the land features permanently. http://www.usc. edu/dept/ tsunamis/ alaska/1964/ webpages/ index.htmlTake care, n. If a quake comes please hang on tight:)love to you and all your shaken up

http://abclocal. go.com/kgo/ story?section= news/state & id=7209932http://seismo. berkeley. edu/seismo/ Homepage. htmlIt looks to me as if the Hayward fault, south of here, caused the two quakes in Milpitas, and an under thePacific floor fault may have caused the quake offEureka, causing minor damage in Ferndale. The big scary one for us here in the East Bay and inSan Francisco is the San s fault, which is huge. However, another fault which can effect San Franciscois the Calaveras fault, which may have moved duringthe recent Milpitas quake as there was some sensationof movement in San Francisco. We have not had a major quake in the East

Bay--one that really did major damage--since the LomaPrieta Earthquake of 1989, which may have beenon convergent fault lines:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loma_Prieta_earthquakeLove to you, Sharon, and to all, and thank you for yourconcern,nP.S. Loma Prieta is old Portuguese for "Black (prieta)Earth (loma as in loam)" M.~
