Good People, Attached please find the Dignity in Schools Campaign's comment letter on the proposed extension of the US Department of Education's Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC). As you know, the CRDC is our best national survey of the disciplinary practices of schools and districts. ED is proposing to extend the CRDC through 2013. We've written this letter to ask ED to survey all schools and conduct the CRDC every year (currently, the CRDC surveys half the nation's districts every two years). We've also recommended additional reporting categories.If you wish to sign, please email alternatives@... by 4pm edt on Monday May 3rd. Signature Instructions:

While all signatures are welcome, we strongly prioritize organizational signatures. If you work for, volunteer for, or are otherwise involved with an organization that looks to affect these issues, please encourage the organization to sign this letter. Whenever possible, please sign on as an organization instead of as an individual.

Individual signatures are also welcome. You may include your title (e.g., " Lambertson, Advocate") and/or your affiliation ("Liz Sullivan, NESRI"). All individual signatures will be listed under the following heading: "the following individuals are listed with their affiliations for identification purposes only."
