Guest guest
Amy Chua's book has been receiving so much negative feedback from sources all over the Internet that the author is now back-pedaling and saying that her book isn't a " how to parent " book so much as it is a " personal memoir " . Unfortunately the controversy has generated increased sales for the book. We can only hope that its misguided and even dangerous advice isn't taken literally by narcissistic parents who crave for their child to be the next Mozart and bring them reflected glory and fame no matter what the cost is to the child. My favorite quote from the news clip went something like " This style of parenting is why I and so many other adult kids of " Tiger Moms " are now in therapy. " Here's the link: http://news.yahoo.com/video/us-15749625/claws-come-out-after-tiger-mother-238758\ 04 Its very validating to know that so many others across the country recognize that what Chua is advocating is no less than child abuse, and that there IS a happy, sane, rational, workable medium between the extremes of under-parenting and over-parenting. -Annie
