At my Rite Aid the 'Biotene' was across the isle from the regular

toothpaste and in with some " specialty " tooth products. I was pretty

surprised too, but so far it's really helped.

Yay!

So by this time Monday morning, there will be Rite Aid managers all over the

country,

scratching their heads and ordering extra cases of 'Bioteme' and wondering why

the shelf

is empty, when the stuff never sold in the past. LOL

OH Yes, I forgot about that. I can use Sensidine (sp) or Tom's Natural

toothpaste but all the rest, especially the gel varieties play havoc with my

lips, gums and the tissues in my mouth. I will check out the Biotene but almost

hate to like it due to the price. :-)

RE: another symptom?

Here's something you all might find interesting. My husband has an

allergy to sodium laurel sulfate, (found in toothpaste, soap, shampoo

etc.) It's the foaming agent in these products. Well we found one

toothpaste at Rite Aid without it. It's called Biotene. Anyhow on the

package it says it helps with dry mouth and cracked lips associated

with autoimmune disorders. And I'm here to tell you all, it works!!!

My lips haven't been chapped or cracked since I switched 4 days

ago. Here's the clincher though, 7 bucks a tube!

But worth it for now.

I've had trouble with dry lips, too, especially when I'm hypo. My skin gets

horribly dry all over when I'm hypo.

RE: another symptom?

I was wondering if anyone else thought that super dry cracked lips might be

a symptom?

I use Tom's of Maine products all the time, toothpastes and

deoderants mostly. I can say that I love their products.

You can find them at Wal-Marts and Targets besides at health

food stores.
