Guest guest
I was dx with a fungal infection after an ERCP in May. 2 of the 3 main ducts were completely blocked. When my hep was able to balloon these ducts yucky stuff came flowing through which was dx as fungus. Aren't you glad I wasn't more descriptive? In the 6 months previous to this I had been hospitalized 3 times with one extended stay including surgery and lots of hard hitting antibiotics. My hep felt that due to all the antibiotics in my system for so long that the fungus took its opportunity and took over. Last week I had a followup ERCP to balloon the ducts again (he believes in doing the scope 2 times in close succession instead of stents) and haven't heard what the lab report is yet. Since we treated it initially with an antifungal it should be all right. Marie, About Noah's height-- in the past I was told that UC might be a culprit in delaying growth. I was 11 when I was dx with UC and ended up being 5ft, 5in which isn't too bad for a girl. PSC wasn't in the mix for me or the others I've known as children with UC but it might be something to check into. However, in my opinion, it doesn't seem like something to worry about yet. Noah is only 9 with plenty of growing years to come. Wishing you and your family all the best. Blessings, Barby
Guest guest
Thanks Barby! I won't stress much yet. I know he is not supposed to be still in the 75% that he was, but thank God he had that cushion I guess. Thank goodness he was my gestational diabetes baby. He was huge compared to my others. LOL!
