R--

Thanks so much. I must say that you were much more confident than I

was. When you told me you knew that both tubes would be clear, I

thought that you were cute in being so optimistic. In no way did I

think that's the news I'd get. Unbelievable.

Now I keep wondering how many people who got clear HSGs go on to have

another ep (due to damaged little hairs inside the tube, etc). I

think this happened to . I know I just need to give this

worrying up.

Hi ,

Thanks so much for your thoughts today. I know you and I were close

on this one because your's will be very, very soon. Since everything

is fresh in my mind, feel free to ask me any questions. I'm having

some cramping still, but not too bad. I'm still popping advils.

I can't believe I didn't need the powerhose! Regarding the bcp's, I

talked to the nurse and they want me to finish them up this month--

I've still got about 2 weeks of the white ones and then the green

ones, which will bring on af. Then it's clomid time.

Can't wait until you are up,

Now we just have to get you through the Clomid and

than you will be good to go!!

I hoping has a visit from af and gets the ok

for hsg and than she can send her my way!

I am glad you didn't experience any real pain. How

long did the test take? Did they say how long the

cramping would last?

Congrats again!

Hi ,

Well, I spent a long time (a good hour) waiting for the test because

the dr was running late. I'd say it took 5 minutes for them to get

all the equipment set up, and then 1 minute to watch the fluid flow

through on the monitor. I thought there was more to come, but all of

the sudden he said " both clear, " pulled everything out, and that was

it. It was so fast.

There were a lot of people in there. One nurse was my RE's assistant

and she spent a lot of time looking at the monitor and pointing

things out to my dh. There was another nurse who was up by my face

trying to distract me with small talk. Then there was the RE doing

the test. There were 3 monitors all over the room. They were joking

that I was on " candid camera. " My dh was actually on the other side

of the room watching it. He thought it was really cool. I'm really

glad I brought him and that they let him in. I wasn't sure if that

was allowed or not.

I think the cramping will last a day or two. I'm bleeding too. Oh

yeah, there was one woman who went before me, and they said she was

screaming thoughout it--so I guess the experience really can vary

from person to person.

I am glad your dh was able to be in there with you (at

least that was comforting for you) Wow, I can't

believe it did not take that long. Boy, you had all

kinds of people in there taking care of you! At least

you didn't have any problems with the test. I hope

you are relaxing now. Let the good news really sink

in.

....thanks for the info.

I'm happy for your good news! Thanks for sharing about the pain factor,

too, in case I decide that it would be worth my doing. Good luck to you!

HSG results

Hi all,

I'm back from my HSG already. Thank you all for the positive

thoughts you sent. They worked. Both tubes are clear!!! My RE said

my left tube was a little wider than my right (my ep tube), but the

dye flowed through both tubes very quickly.

And the second bit of good news is that I didn't experience that much

pain. It definitely hurt when they put everything in and when they

took it out, but it didn't compare to some of the pain horror stories

I've heard. It's like I felt very stretched and there was an extreme

tightness in my stomach. The nurse said that some dr's can be brutal,

and that's when it hurts.

I am still wondering what that 1 1/2 inch thing is that was/is

visible on the U/S, and that the gyne was able to feel, not even 3

weeks ago. Maybe I have a growth or a clot on the outside of my

tube. I am so relieved that there is nothing that blocks the

inside. The RE didn't seem concerned about it at all. By the time I

got dressed, my RE was gone--but he did tell my dh that everything

looks good and we can move forward. My dh got to watch the entire

test, which is good because I was pretty spaced out.

I just left a message at my dr's office to see if I can possibly stop

taking the birth control pill now (mid-cycle) in order to jump-start

a new cycle, or if I have to finish them out. I believe the next

step for me will be the infamous clomid challenge test. If that

turns out okay, then I can ttc the next cycle.

The results were far better than I ever anticipated. Thank you all

for your support!

Ah, I knew there was a catch...I would be the one screaming. I am such a

wimp about pain, especially anything related to that area of my body. Still

so happy for your news, though!
