Dear Judy and Poly,

Thanks so much for helping me with this information. Just to give a brief history of my situation - I have now had three surgeries for AS in the UK. After the first my periods returned but were extremely light and I was not really monitored. I had to request an investigation after a year and as I suspected I had re-scarred. In the second op. an IUD was fitted and I had three months on hormones. I had a very heavy bleed after the IUD was removed. Then the very light periods resumed. Everything seemed fine in an HSG at this point in time and I was told to ttc.

After six months I had another HSG but this one revealed there upper part of the uterus was closed and I had no fill or spill from my tubes. I was then referred to a different consultant who performed a hyst and lap in Oct. and inserted an IUD with one months hormones. My cavity now looks clear under U/S and one of my tubes is functioning. However I was told to expect a heavy bleed as before but this time only spotting arrived. I am now back to square one with very light periods. When I asked what a small white patch on the U/S was I was told it was endometrium. I was then told the rest of the lining probably had scar tissue but this was nothing to worry about as my endo. would grow back over it and I still had plenty of endo. in the lower cavity. At this point I decided to seek advice from Dr.G.

I am really interested to know if anyone can conceive with some scarring left on the walls or whether I am trying in vain. Can people with light periods eventually develop heavier ones? Is scarring on the walls possible to remove and for the lining to restore itself successfully? I was told my AS was probably moderate and quite possible to treat but does scarring on the walls suggest a more severe case? I wish I understood this more and really hope Dr.G replies soon - I am desperate for some answers.

Thank you once again to both of you who I hold with great admiration. Judy, I having been following your story and feel you are very brave and doing something truly remarkable which your family will bless you for in the future. I know it must be very hard to be away from them and takes much courage. I hope Dr. Indman can provide you with some excellent results - you deserve them. Poly, thank you once again for all the concern and inspiration you give to everyone each day - this group has changed the lives of many people.

Best wishes,

Judy,

I have had a number of hsgs in the past but not since the surgery in October. I am having an U/S to check for ovulation but think another hsg may indeed be helpful at this point to check the cavity.I do think my cavity is still open (hopefully) but I think there may be scarring on the walls stopping my periods getting heavier. My consultant also told me that edom. will grow over the scarring so I hope this is the case and it is only a matter of time before things improve. It's just that I've been here twice before and my periods are exactly the same as when cavity closed again the last two times. My consultant is Mr.Lower - I am seeking a second opinion from Dr.G as I am trying to understand exactly what is going on. Maybe I just have to be patient but something tells me things are still not right.

Thanks again for your help on this matter - hope things are going well for you.
