Guest guest
Hi, my family is looking to relocate to Central Florida. We have a 16 year old autistic son. I'm trying to find out about the service available both schoolwise and also what happens when they graduate? I live in NJ and they stay in school until 21 then you can try an place in a work type program depending on ability and supervision needs. For living arrangements there is a priority waitng list, priority deferred list, and general list for services. I'm told there's over 3400 families on the priority list alone and it could be 10 to 20 years for placement/services. Is it similar, better or worse in Florida? Any opinions and recomendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
