If you call your local S.S. office they can answer your questions or schedule an

appt. for you to come in and speak w/ them. They will also send you booklets.

From what I was told by our contact person, it is based on income, expenses

(utilities, housing, travel, etc.), and what medical problems and needs exist.

My child is at one of the higher levels for his diagnosis, because he pays a

portion to rent, food, medical expenses, etc. I found the people at both the

Ft. Lauderdale office and the Pembroke office to be very friendly and helpful.

I hope this helps.

The maximum payment amount is $674.00 at this time. Are you looking for info for eligibility based on family or individual situation?

Thanks for the replies. That is one of the things I was trying to find out. It seems info like that is shrouded in a lot of mystery....my questions are based on a family situation for a diagnosis of autism. Since the autism Dx though, my son has had other Dx's ADDED to it....don’t know if that changes the situation as well as loss or gain of job by parent.
