Guest guest
Stress. We all feel it, at least some of the time. Our body reacts to stress in a variety of ways, all hardwired. But we can still do things to reduce that stress. Here are some:Some techniques recommended by experts are:* to think positive thoughts. * Spend 30 minutes a day doing something you like. (i.e.,Soak in a hot tub; walk on the beach or in a park; read a good book; visit a friend; play with your dog; listen to soothing music; watch a funny movie. * Get a massage, a facial or a haircut. * Meditate. * Count to ten before losing your temper or getting aggravated. * Avoid difficult people when possible. * Thought for the day: When seeing red, think pink clouds….then float on them. Guest guest
It's so hard when there are "things" going on that we would normally feed: stress, anger, whatever. I have struggled with this myself so much this past 4 months. When I can get that connection fixed, things may go easier LOL!! I think you did the right thing going to the coaches. I do not know what it is with kids in general lately, all this bullying we're hearing about... stress. Yesterday was so stressful. I found out that my son (age 8) is being bullied by kids on his soccer team. It breaks my heart So I spent half the night writing an email to the coaches to inform them of the behavior (and what I expect to have happen) and the other half of the night fitfully sleeping because I'm just not sure what to do. He's a sensitive kid with a lot of anxiety issues and I fear that these kids could just crush his spirit. *sigh* Anyway, I'm writing to you guys because honestly, since this all started yesterday afternoon, all I've wanted is junk food. I must have picked up leftover Easter candy a hundred times...but I also put it back down. I did eat a LOT more than I usually do, though. I don't know how to break the habit of stress = food. Advice? Cheers, Bonnie
Guest guest
Thanks for your reply, ! Yeah, it was a crazy couple of days there. Looks like we're all going to work together to fix the situation, so that's good. At first it looked like the coaches were going to just brush it off as a " boy thing " --and that drives me INSANE! Thanks again Cheers, Bonnie > > It's so hard when there are " things " going on that we would normally feed: stress, anger, whatever. > > I have struggled with this myself so much this past 4 months.
