Guest guest
- Silver RIdge Elementary, which is where my son (with Aspergers) attends is quite good with Autism and other special needs. It is in Davie as well as Fox Trail Elementary which has cluster programs. Maybe someone can post their opinions about Fox Trail. I do know that you need to get on that soon as Silver Ridge especially is filled and over filled every year. Best of luck. We will all be here to assist when you need us! With admiration for all parents putting the puzzle together, one loving piece at a time, Subject: Hello everyone...To: sList Date: Wednesday, June 16, 2010, 10:37 AM I just wanted to send out a HUGE thank you. I last posted in May when I was looking for Tricare providers for Speech, OT and ABA. I received an overwhelming amount of emails and I was shocked at the level of support and help I got from this group. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!It looks like we will be moving to South Florida either in November or April, depending on the Army at this point (so who knows?)I have a ton to do and I still need to contact a ton of the providers I received emails from, but am working on that.I also wanted to see if someone could give me an idea of how the Broward County Public School System works there with special education and Autism. When we got here, not every school here has special ed classes and we had to send his IEP to the school Board and then they place him in an elementary school that had room for him. BUT it was the wrong fit and we pulled him out after the first two weeks. I am hoping to find a good school for him there, we will be in Davie...please let me know if you have an information to offer. Location wise I think he would be placed at Davie Elementary.Any help would be appreciated as I have no clue where he would go or what schools have what programs...Thanks again!!
