Guest guest
Patti - You're all right. I should just have them done. (By the way, your idea about the hot baths, oh yes, putting my hands and knees in a tub of hot water is just ecstasy - makes me never want to get out!) Since you all know now that I am the worst-case-scenario queen, I'll tell you what the worst that could happen is. I could go get the blood work done, get the results, find out that yes, as suspected, my FT4 is below normal, but my TSH is still .01. I'm not on ATDs, so it's not like I could just decrease the dosage of that. Would a doc really give me synthroid or something for a low FT4 but low TSH? That's what I don't know. So the worst case would be that yes, I'm hypo according to T4, but there's nothing that can be done about it right now. That would definitely suck. In my fantasy world, by waiting another month, my TSH suddenly shoots up making obvious what the problem is. Not likely to happen :-( Actually, that's not my worst case, but it's up there. All right, maybe I'll call the doc's office and see if I can get some answers at least. Re: hypo symptoms - dumb question > > >> I was feeling really bad. Guest guest
To 's statement I'd like to add....... How many days of life do you think we get? Wouldn't it be a shame if we wasted some of them feeling awful when we could be ok? And what about the good things we could do or the other people we could connect with meaningfully if we all felt good? I just think that many of us are driven by the need to be the best we can. Probably, in part, how we got here in the first place. Guest guest
Hi , >>>y FT4 is below normal, but my TSH is still .01. I'm not on ATDs, so it's >>>not like I could just decrease the dosage of that. Would a doc really >>>give me synthroid or something for a low FT4<<< Actually one of the ab's, either TSI or TPO <sorry can't remember which> can confuse the pituitary into thinking your body doesn't need anymore hormone. Do a post for Elaine on this, just make sure her name is in the subject line. I know she is under the gun on a project for a day or two, but maybe she can pop in and answer this. Get the doctor to run the FT 3 and FT4 to get an accurate picture of what is going on...they don't because they are the newest tests and tend to rely on that stupid tsh which doesn't say jack when it comes to thyroid...why do a pituitary test to find out what is going on with the thyroid when there are tests that can give a much more accurate pictures. Call him ;-) Jody _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp. Guest guest
and... we hate going in for a complaint and having them run all kinds of invasive tests just for them to say there is nothing wrong after all.
