Guest guest
hi all. here is the recipie that i used yesterday for my HP that turned to mushy oatmeal: 106 ounces tallow 14 ounces lye 41 ounces cold water it came to trailings perfectly. and this is the same recipie that i always use for my CP. when i put it to the stove it " grew " no problem....but towards the end all i ended up with was mushy oatmeal type soap. any and all suggestions would be most greatful. also can this be remilled? or saved? today it is kinda damp and crumbly. when i make my CP it comes out a beautiful creamy type of soap with lots of lather. i am totally stumped here. HELP. :-) thanks in advance. ice ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
Guest guest
Ice, With my HP attempts, what I've found is that you really have to cook it until the soap is DRY! Just because it grows once doesn't necessarily mean it's done cooking. I've seen soap have to " grow " 2 or 3 times in order for it to completely cook. Also, between the " growing " stages, it should actually separate, then come back together in sort of a frothy, champagne looking mixture. After that, it will start to dry out and it's close to being done. I'd try cooking it some more. Add a bit of water, if you need to, it won't hurt the soap because it will just boil off anyway.
