What drugs can't be taken while on synthroid?

Hello all,

I hope your all feeling good! :-)

The reason for this posting is that I have been suffering from a head

cold for the past week. Before taking any over the counter medicine,

I asked my pharmacist and she told me not to take anything with

Pseudoephedrine in it. Unfortunately, it is in almost all cold

medicines with nasal decongestants. She said I could use Afrin for my

nose. My Endo also said not to use Psuedoephedrine.

I haven't used the Afrin yet, but I have been using Vicks VapoRub and

saline sprays.

This made me start to think about other drugs and their interaction

with Synthroid. I don't see my doctor for another week, so I was

wondering if anyone else can help me. What drugs can NOT be mixed

with Synthroid and why?

The best thing to do is to talk to your Pharmacist. They can tell you exactly

what you can and cannot take. It is my understanding that most decongestants

are a no no. Also, many packages will have instructions on them stating that

you should not use if you are suffering from Thyroid disease.
