I sure will be thinking about you Helen. I am so lucky that I have the

job I do. I work for the state department of education and my office is

at home. I set my own schedule and as long as I create the professional

development materials and do my presentations I can work whatever hours

I want to. So, when I am up at night hurting I work and rest and go to

physical thereapy in the day.

I will say prayers for you. Remember to breathe!:-)

Hi, Everyone!

I've been pretty quiet of late but have been reading emails almost daily. I

don't usually do this but I am writing now to ask for everyone's prayers. I

just got word today that Josh's old aide - a wonderful young woman with the

world before her - was diagnosed at the end of May with non-Hodgkins lymphoma.

Before you offer your prayers, let me tell you something about Tanna.

Josh was in Easter Seals inclusive daycamp and an aide had to be hired. We

had bad luck with one aide and we were pretty apprehensive. Then they

introduced us to Tanna. She was (she just graduated three days after her

diagnosis) a hearing impaired/language/ communications major at Ill.St.Univ.

She impressed us immediately by her innate ability to communicate with Josh,

using the sign language we had used with him when he was younger. She engaged

him immediately and, over the course of the summer, worked with him on his

letters, his speech, his ability to communicate with the other kids, and she

worked with the other kids to learn to play with Josh. Josh fell in love with

her and we still, now four years later, still keep in touch with her. About a

year ago, Easter Seals had a garage sale for a fundraiser and Tanna saw a Blue's

Clues doll that she pulled out of the sale and made a point of saving/giving to

Josh. And, when Josh was going to the State Special

Olympics competition last Fall, Tanna made a special trip to the competition to

see him.

Tanna is wholly dedicated to kids with needs. In fact, she was hired by

Josh's old school district to teach in the hearing impaired classroom - and she

was to start just a few days after her graduation. Unfortunately, because of

district budget cuts, as I also just found out, she was told right about the

same time as her diagnosis that she would not be teaching (and the district cut

several other teachers as well).

So, now I don't know what her insurance situation is - without work and being

cut from her parents' policy with her college graduation I don't know whether

she even has insurance at this point. Indeed, she was diagnosed because she had

to have a physical before being taken off her parents' policy and they found a

lump on her neck that she had been ignoring during her final school year. I do

know that she has already undergone 11 chemotherapy treatments and is looking at

three years' worth ahead of her. Apparently, the form of non-Hodgkins lymphoma

that she has is very rapid and is already in her bone marrow.

So, now that you have some background on Tanna, I would certainly appreciate

any prayers you have for her. I can't tell you what a wonderful young woman she

is - I'm usually pretty good with words but there aren't enough for her. Thank

you for your prayers.

Sherry and Josh

Sherry,

I will definitely comply with your request. My mom, who passed away when

I was 7, had that disease. She was given 6 months back then and actually

lived 6.5 years so there is hope. My cousin got it 15 years after my mom

and has been in remission for almost 20 years. Hang in there! There is

hope.

Lord, I thank you for Tanna, and what she recently accomplished. I thank you

Lord for watching over her and taking care of her all her life. And Lord I just

want to remind you of your promise, that when we pray for the sick they shall

recover and when we speak to the mountain, to be removed and be cast into the

sea, it shall obey us. Lord I pray right now for Tanna, that from the crown of

her head to the souls of her feet, she is healed and I speak to the mountain of

non-Hodgkins lymphoma to be removed right now from her body and be cast into the

sea. That Tanna, you are healed in the name of Jesus. That non-Hodgkins

lymphoma shall bow to the name of Jesus.

Lord I thank you right now for answered prayer that Tanner is healed. Amen. And

I shall continue to give you praise you. Your word O Lord will not return to you

void.

thanks, chris! the docs are very hopeful for her because of her age and her

otherwise good health. and, I did speak with her the other night and she is in

really good spirits, which will also help her fight this. they expect her to go

into remission after 2 to 3 months of chemo, and then they are going to do what

sounded like " preventive treatment " to ensure there is no spread to the spine or

brain. on the upside, even though the cancer is already in her bone marrow,

it's only on the left so, if they determine a transplant is necessary, they can

harvest from the right side of her body! pretty amazing.

thanks for the kind thoughts. hope all is well with you and and the rest

of your family!

Re: [ ] Prayers Please

Hi, Everyone!

I've been pretty quiet of late but have been reading emails almost daily. I

don't usually do this but I am writing now to ask for everyone's prayers. I just

got word today that Josh's old aide - a wonderful young woman with the world

before her - was diagnosed at the end of May with non-Hodgkins lymphoma. Before

you offer your prayers, let me tell you something about Tanna.

Josh was in Easter Seals inclusive daycamp and an aide had to be hired. We had

bad luck with one aide and we were pretty apprehensive. Then they introduced us

to Tanna. She was (she just graduated three days after her diagnosis) a hearing

impaired/language/ communications major at Ill.St.Univ. She impressed us

immediately by her innate ability to communicate with Josh, using the sign

language we had used with him when he was younger. She engaged him immediately

and, over the course of the summer, worked with him on his letters, his speech,

his ability to communicate with the other kids, and she worked with the other

kids to learn to play with Josh. Josh fell in love with her and we still, now

four years later, still keep in touch with her. About a year ago, Easter Seals

had a garage sale for a fundraiser and Tanna saw a Blue's Clues doll that she

pulled out of the sale and made a point of saving/giving to Josh. And, when Josh

was going to the State Special

Olympics competition last Fall, Tanna made a special trip to the competition to

see him.

Tanna is wholly dedicated to kids with needs. In fact, she was hired by Josh's

old school district to teach in the hearing impaired classroom - and she was to

start just a few days after her graduation. Unfortunately, because of district

budget cuts, as I also just found out, she was told right about the same time as

her diagnosis that she would not be teaching (and the district cut several other

teachers as well).

So, now that you have some background on Tanna, I would certainly appreciate any

prayers you have for her. I can't tell you what a wonderful young woman she is -

I'm usually pretty good with words but there aren't enough for her. Thank you

for your prayers.

Sherry,

I will say a few prayers for her. Jeanne

I received this email from a friend today and would like to ask all of you to send healing prayers to my friend Frances.

From Frances Symons

To all my Church Family:

Well, after all these tests and Doctors Appts., we did not get the news we wanted. The cancer has spread, is in-operable. The recommended treatment is Radiation & Chemo. I meet with the Radioligist on Monday and again with the Oncologist on Tuesday to discuss in detail where we go from here.

I am still optimistic. The Master Physician has my final destiny in HIS Hands. And I claim the promise of my Ephifany Star "Good Health in 2008". Keep me (and Dianne) in your prayers.
