Hello eveyrone

My son qualifies for the Mckay Scholarship. He is currently in 3rd grade in the

Miami Gardens area. His school has been labeled " In Need of Improvement " and I

have the option to change schools. My question is, how am I able to find which

public schools accept the Mckay Scholarshiip?? and if any one can recommend an

elementary for high functioning autistic kids in Miami. PLEASE HELP WITH

DIRECTION.

Once your child has an IEP and qualifies for the McKay scholarship you are able to enroll him/her into any public school of your choice.....within that county. ...it is not an issue of whether a public school accepts McKay..the issue is that the child has an IEP, qualifies for McKay and then can go to another public school because you are not satisfied with the current one.

If you choose private school then you would have to see if the private school participates and accepts the McKay scholarship toward tuition.

Hope this helps.dr. Ilyssa hershey
