We left only because of our insurance company. Dr. Reitman is extremely knowledgable about Autism and very passionate about what she does. Everyone there makes you feel like part of their family! This information would be more than welcomed. I have been trying to go there for years.. and I didn't know they take insurance. Please let me know and thank you for sharing! Guest guest Posted March 9, 2010 Report Share Posted March 9, 2010 What you have to understand is that it is not music therapy that is covered per se, but the fact that I am a licensed psychologist who also has a degree and certification in music therapy - which is truly psychotherapy or behavior therapy...Music therapy itself is not a licensed profession in Florida, so those music therapists without a license in something else cannot bill any insurance for it. My daughter started music therapy when she was 2 and a half years old and my son started around 12 months. They both have been with Dr. Reitman at Cadenza Center in Hollywood since they started. They have made tremendous progress in ALL areas of their lives. My daughter's social skills have increased dramatically and she's even developed some wonderful leadership qualities as well! They not only have private therapy, but they also go once a week to a wonderful music social group! Their number is . My children love going to music therapy and I love seeing the progress!!
