I have a question for you guys? I have a 16 yr old Autistic son and where i live the School District is NOT GOOD at all Ive had sooooo many problems at this schools here not to mention all the reports of abuse and mistreatment of there kids not to mention alot of the kids that have been kicked out of schools (normal kids) go there and pregnant girls attend the school too. So i had to have him home schooled well that's not working out and im considering taking home back to his old school which is an hour away and it was the greatest school ever never had a problem there if you guys were in my shoes would u take your child an hour away every day just so he can be more successful??? Any thoughts......

Hi!

I home schooled for the first 7 years, and then enrolled my son in private

school. One was an hour away and then the high school was about an hour and 20

minutes away. It was worth it, to see him progress and to know that he was safe.

After I dropped my son off, I would do whatever errands needed to be done at

places on my route back home. (if there was a grocery, pharmacy, bank, etc. on

the way home - I got my errands done and didn't have to plan extra time for

them.) You have to do what is best for you and your family, but I can tell you

it was well worth the effort to take my son to a school where he was safe and

there was a caring staff. Good luck.

Glenda
