Guest guest
Lia, This is alot to handle at the start, but know you are doing the right thing by seeking treatment. Do not worry about the helmet, it does not in any way restrict brain growth or put harmful pressure on the skull. Most babies have an initial adjustment period of about a week and then it's life as usual plus a helmet. My son Dominick was treated with three Doc Bands for severe inutero plagio and today his head and face are beautiful. You can read about his treatment and see his progress pics on his website at www.mybandedbaby.typepad.com if you'd like. I see you are also dealing with torticollis. Are you getting therapy for this as well. It is important to get the tort resolved so that the helmet can correct the asymmetry without being hindered by the tort. Keep us posted on how things go. Maybe you can share a little more about your boy with us...name, age etc...??
