Guest guest
What causes anyone to get sick? I think this is a very complex question and it is extremely difficult to find an answer. The human body is not a machine. We as humans are very complex and the nervous, endocrine, and immune systems are complicated enough on their own but when it comes to the interactions and influences both of one system on another and the effects of all combined, science hasn't even begun to understand yet. I don't think that we can just completely disregard the link between psyche and soma because there is no doubt that it exists. Scientists have discovered that our very thoughts can influence our brain and body chemistries. Of course, chemical imbalances in the brain cause symptoms but we can influence brain and body chemistry not only by taking drugs but also by our emotional states, levels of stress, etc. I believe that, at the quantum level. our bodies are matrices of energy which are reflected on the physical level. Kirlian photography has shown these 'energy fields' to be different in healthy and sick organisms. I'm not advocating that we should forget our rosacea and just get on with life and it will disappear, as Yingem@... says but I do believe that we need to be careful not to completely neglect this aspect. I am constantly amazed at how little 'science' really knows about the workings of the human body and disease in general. We only need to look at how limited we are in understanding and treating rosacea to grasp this. Therefore, my belief is that we need to use all our resources and also our intuition to obtain for ourselves what is needed to try to regain some balance. For me, this means anything that seems to help. Apart from diet, medications (when needed), and gentle topical applications I have found improvement has been significantly influenced by using positive thinking, biofeedback and meditation. Also, I have noticed that at times when I have been too busy to really take a lot of notice of my skin, there has been definite and noticeable improvement.
