Restraints, Seclusion & PTSD

It's Time for Healing

Across the nation, children are being restrained and secluded at alarming rates. Families and advocates alike are fighting for legislation to ensure that our children do not endure this horrific trauma.

Along with fighting for legislation to protect our children, we must find solutions to help heal the children who have been restrained and/or secluded. Our children are left with tremendous anxiety, distrust of people in positions of authority and many struggle with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

With a great desire to help these children and their families, OJTA has connected with Michele Rosenthal of Heal My PTSD, LLC and Krill, Licensed Professional Counselor and author of Gentling.

Michele and Bill are generously donating their experience, time and resources to offer tips and tools to help families work with their children.

Join us on June 3rd, 2010 at 8 pm EST as four mothers of children who have been restrained and/or secluded share their child's symptoms of PTSD.

One mother will share how her son was restrained a known 89 times in a 14 month period. Her son is crippled with anxiety and has lost interest in everything he used to enjoy.

Another mom will report how her son was restrained 4 times within a month and a half resulting in multiple bruises, a busted lip and a neck injury. Her son now struggles with chronic anxiety and nightmares.

Listeners will learn tips and tools for healing and empowerment as suggested by Michele and Bill.

Registration is free.

Michele interviewed Bill and published the interview to the Heal My PTSD Blog.
