For those of you who give your kids cod liver oil, I wanted to give it a try. How much do you give per day? Is it based upon the child's weight or age?

2-4 teaspoons daily. We started with 2 teaspoons daily when our son was 3. At last years appointment, we were told we could give up to 4 teaspoons daily.

I don't think we ever made it up that high as now he takes it in capsules so he just takes 4 daily.

You can go to Kirkman's website and check out the info pages on cod liver oil. It tells you all the equivalencies.

you also can overdose with cod liver oil (Vit A and D included) as

opposed to fish oil.

Vit A is not that hard to overdose. So make sure you follow either

the label's or your doctor's directions for weight.
