Guest guest
My son will turn 5 months and 1 week old tomorrow. He's a lot more brachycephaly with a little bit of plagio and mild torticollis. He's been in physical therapy for 2 weeks now and his measurements are below: Cephalic Index - 92.3 Cranial Vault - 6 mm Parietal to eye - 10 mm (but has improved to 5 mm after 2 weeks of PT) Oblique diameter - 4 mm Facial Asymmetry - 2 mm Cranial Base - 2 mm I have the prescription in hand for the helmet. But the pediatrician and PT said most people wait until 6 months to see if the child can self-correct enough that they won't need a helmet. Ultimately it's up to me as to if and when I get one. I've been aggressively repositioning my son since he was 2 months old and haven't noticed any change in the flatness across the back of his head. If anything, it seems worse and more noticeable the older he gets. Should I just go ahead and do it now, or wait another month? Am I wasting precious time hoping for self-correction that very likely isn't going to happen? Advise please!!!!! Thanks, Becky
