Guest guest
Hi All - I've just about decided to give up on my son's doctors, since they aren't providing any degree of care/communication/response/information. My calls aren't returned, we haven't heard anything since we told Dr. Boyer's nurse that we'd rather wait until December, after Trev graduates and (I hope!) has a job lined up, before the ERCP. I've asked if Dr. Ghishan, the ped. gastroenterologist who has treated Trev since he was diagnosed with Crohn's in 2001, will continue to be involved in his care: no response. I'll take that as a no. Dr. Boyer is supposed to be a liver whiz, but his expertise won't do Trev any good if he won't impart it. So does anyone have a recommendation for Tucson docs? katy _________________________________________________________________ All-in-one security and maintenance for your PC. Guest guest
Katy- I am sorry about the run around-I don't have any doctor leads for you-but my brother's doctor's office has nurses and office staff that sometimes can be a bit on the unbearable side. We spoke with his doctor about the treatment his staff does on occassion-(we love the doctor-it's the staff that we have occasional issues with) he gave us his personal email address and a phone answering service, that he himself checks, so if we haven't gotten the appropriate answers, we can contact him and get the answers we need. He did tell us that it could take him 24-48 hours before he checks his email or voicemail, but that his personal assistant (not office staff) helps him with this and response would be had. Fortunately since we explained all this to the doctor-not staff we have not had very many problems and had not to contact him directly-but we had found that the doctor himself did not know his staff was yanking patients around. So I would suggest, if you like your doctor and want him to continue care and involvement to actually schedule an appointment with him, in the appt. speak to him about the treatment you have gotten trying to get answers and referrals-from this you will be able to determine if a new doctor route is in the future. Good doctors are so few and far between-that sometimes when you find them, you have to fight with the staff to keep them!
