Guest guest
Two great psychologists who treat lots of kids with Aspergers and Anxiety issues - Dr. Hoffman and Dr. Ketty in Weston. Robin Hi, I have a seven year old son with aspergers. He was recently diagnosed with two gastric ulcers, the result of anxiety. I need to find him a therapist in the Boca Raton area, we have met with one on our insurance, but I am not happy with him. Anyone with experience in this area who knows of a great therapist please let me know. Thank you for your help !! also any medication info you have would be greatly appreciated ! Guest guest
HiThis may or may not be helpful. It is unrelated to therapists. My 10 year old ASD son was also diagnosed with two ulcers due to stress/anxiety around August of last year. He was not eating for months. He was put on med's which did nothing; Carafate and Prevacid. After 3 months of non-stop hospital and doctor's visits I insisted he was put on Nexium. Within 10 days he was eating more than he ever has in 10 years and we have just had confirmation through another endoscopy that his ulcers are gone. I believe Nexium is the most effective med for ulcers, although I am aware everyone is different. The reason that it is not prescribed initially is that the insurance companies don't want to pay for it. Makes no sense. They would've saved us and themselves a ton of money had they approved it at the beginning. I wish you luck with finding a good therapist as this is definitely the way to go to prevent a recurrence. All the best,Caroline Hi, I have a seven year old son with aspergers.
