Well, with my daughter she was very obviously born with a misshapen

head. She had been very low my whole pregnancy and her head formed

around my pelvic bone. It did get flatter from positional causes

after she was born, but we noticed the initial shape the day she was

born (and of course were told it would round out). She also didn't

have a completely " classic " plagio shape in that her pushed in flat

right side didn't have the corresponding pushed our bossing

forhead. She also has some bones in her skull that actually grew

misshapen, so rather than starting out round and getting flat

positionally, she grew into this shape inutero. Even as the helmet

rounded her head, she still had some actual bone shape issues that

can't be corrected. I'm neurotic about it happening to our next

baby as well, lol, but there really isn't anything you can do to

prevent it! Hannah was so low that even at my first 16 week

ultrasound they couldn't get a head circumference on her. There are

some pics of her shape at birth on her website if you're interested.
