GlGlandulars do nothing for me. > Will the doctor who diagnosed adrenal fatigue write a prescription for cortef? A dose in the range of 10-20 mg will likely help. The interventions that Andy mentions in his " Amalgam Illness " book are all very helpful - small frequent meals, protein with every meal, no sugar, chromium picolinate with meals, large quantities of B and C vitamins. Be sure to get adequate sodium. Read the section of Amalgam Illness about potassium and magnesium (p 98-99). Extra stomach acid with meals. Are you taking the supplements that Andy recommends to lower copper? to support the liver? Remove processed vegetable oils and margarines from your diet. Use extra virgin olive oil for salads and dips. For cooking use small quantities of butter or high oleic safflower oil (there are other oils that are acceptable in small quantities, I forget which ones). Be sure to get 1-2 T of cod liver oil or fish oil or flax oil per day. In the book " From Fatigued to Fantastic " Teitelbaum describes treatment of the adrenals with licorise, ginseng and echinacea. The book " Adrenal Fatigue " by gives some practical advise. Be sure to test free T3, free T4 and thyroid antibodies. Only trial thyroid hormone after cortisol has been replaced. > My main symptoms are depression, lack of motivation, anxiety (used to > be much worse-panic attacks) just plain tired all the time and > generally dizzy and feel like crap. > Gee, sounds like how I used to feel.........
