Guest guest
Our son, , just started wearing his starband, which we received at a regional clinic in Pa. After reading all the posts from people on this board, I am starting to question the care he is receiving from his orthotist. They don't take any measurements or anything at his adjustments, and when my husband asked him what the goal was, he said " just to round it out " and not to worry about measurements. Am I overreacting, or is this a concern? I don't really know anyone with a plagio child, so I am hoping those of you who have been through this whole experience can let me know if I'm being neurotic, or if in fact I should find a new clinic? Thank you for any advice or guidance you have to offer! Mother of , 7 mos., starband since 11/14/

Guest guest
, I am sorry that you are having back luck with your orthotist. My son has not yet had his first adjustment. His appointment is this friday. He was banded with a DOC Band on 11-18. It will be interesting to see if Cranial Tech takes measurements and what all they do. Maybe you can talk to the clinic superviser or manager to see if you can't change orthotist instead of completely changing clinics. Keep us posted in what you do. Guest guest
My son is also wearing Starband since last 3 months. My OT never take any measurements. And he never showed where he is improving like CT does. I check myself ,and i am seeing improvement. I know it will be encouraging for us if they tell us measurements. But some people thingk go by look not by the measurements. I was disappointed in the begining. But that might be true. Over all head shape should look good."Janie P." <rjjpencek@...> wrote: , I am sorry that you are having back luck with your orthotist. My son has not yet had his first adjustment. Guest guest
Georgia has worn a Starband for 3 months now. We only ever had measurements at the first visit and they were for insurance purposes--bad numbers get the insurance OK! Our orthotist makes all adjustments based on visual exam of how the helmet fits and the current head shape. In my opinion, numbers would be nice to know but it is more important to be happy with the end result head shape. Good luck. -----Original Message-----From: Plagiocephaly [mailto:Plagiocephaly ] On Behalf Of julierandall2000Sent: Monday, November 28, 2005 9:40 PMPlagiocephaly Subject: Concern About OrthotistOur son, , just started wearing his starband, which we received at a regional clinic in Pa.After reading all the posts from people on this board, I am starting to question the care he is receiving from his orthotist. Guest guest
My son is in the DOC band and they do not take measurements at every visit. I am also just fine with seeing the results myself. I will be sure to get them in the end but in the meantime, I enjoy watching his head round. godsgirl Preston DOC 10/31/05Bri-repoArchana Katupally <katupally@...> wrote: My son is also wearing Starband since last 3 months.
