Guest guest
Last night, I bought a NoJo sling at Babies R Us. I thought I'd prefer the Maya wrap because of the lack of padding, but since I've never even seen a sling in person, I thought it would be nice to have a "trial run" so to speak before ordering the Maya. The NoJo is the only one carried locally so I didn't have much choice. In the store, I tried it on and it felt really bulky, but I bought it anyway (hey, I'm an optimist!). I read the instructions and tried it on with inside last evening. It was interesting. She wasn't really thrilled, but I've read that babies might need to get used to it. This evening I had to run to the grocery store. I dread this because *hates* her car seat and *hates* to ride in the car. She has cried for an entire 30 minute car ride. She also hates the grocery store unless I'm carrying her and that's not always practical when I'm trying to push the cart and shop. So this evening I decided to try out the sling in public. It was wonderful! , amazingly, was asleep for nearly the entire car ride, so she wasn't fussing when I put her in the sling. She fell right back to sleep and snoozed until I put her back in her car seat -- and then she went back to sleep again. It was *great* being able to push the cart and shop, and all the while feel like she was being cuddled. Tonight we spent some time practicing nursing in the sling. It's a little awkward unless we get the right angle and position, I think because I'm not very well endowed. But, it was do-able. I think I'm going to keep the NoJo *and* order the Maya. My only complaint is that this one makes her little head sweaty, so I think the Maya might be nice for warmer weather since it's unpadded.
