Hi, yesterday was my friend Susie's birthday. I painted a card for her. She

really loved it. But, she was thrilled that I remembered her birthday. If you

want to see the card, I have it attached.

Mara has put Nick on a medication called BuSpar. It's used to treat anxiety.

The starting dose was supposed to be 10 mg twice a day and work up to 15 mg

twice a day. When the pharmacist told me that it could cause drowsiness and/or

dizziness, I asked if I could break te tablets into smaller doses. Then he

suggested that I could break the 15 mg tablets in half and start with 7.5 mg.

After 3 doses of 7.5 mg, I had to cut it down to 5 mg twice a day. Nick was

complaining of dizziness. It's hard to say if the medication was causing this

effect even though it's a common side effect. Nick's been experiencing periodic

dizziness for some time now.

I asked Mara what would be the next thing to do if the medication helped get

Nick's anxiety under control, but he was still experiencing this pain. At this

time, she feels that the anxiety is causing the pain, feeling of being

dehydrated, the dizziness, and so on.

What I believe is that initially, Nick was having pain that wasn't being

relieved through usual heartburn treatments. But, the more treatments that were

tried with little or no relieve of symptoms, Nick became more anxious. He

really doesn't like taking medications if they don't work. Some, like the

BuSpar need time to work.

Can anxiety cause a pain to feel worse than what it is?
