Oil-Free Moisturiser

Why oil-free? Because I have noticed when I used an oil-free moisturiser, I

didn't get the little spots but the oil free moisturiser I tried irritated I

think because it contained a fair amount of alcohol. All oils seem to be very

unfriendly to my skin. As rosacea is associated with inflammation of the oil

glands as well as the vessels, I

think it may make sense to avoid oil in some cases and especially where seb derm

is troublesome but I can really only speak for how my own skin reacts. I have

found a make up which is oil free but is not drying at all and does not irritate

my skin -

it absorbs oil where there is excess oil but adds moisture where needed and

I wish I could find something like this as a moisturiser.

After all, there must be some reason why people who are supposed to know

about rosacea recommend oil-free ............ or is there?

Please someone, if you do know of a moisturiser like this, let me know.

Thanks to for his suggestion re. aloe vera gel. I have tried this in the

past but didn't find it moisturising enough. However, if I don't find anything

else, I might try it again.

Cheers

Hazel

Why oil free when so many on this board use the oils with great success. The

healing and soothing properties of emu, jojoba, chamomile, etc., are repeated

over and over so I'm not sure I understand avoiding the oils. Personally I

use the emu oil moisturizers.
