Hi. My name is Robyn. I am new to this list and new to the area. My son has Down

syndrome, chd and pulmonary hypertension. We need to keep him from colds, so we

choose not to send him to school. My understanding is that the state of Florida

is generous with providing services to home bound students. Anyone else in this

boat?

Hi,

My son has been in the HH program since he was 3...he is now 5. It is true that the child must be determined eligible for services at home by a doctor. My son has a cardiac condition, lung disease, weakened immune system putting him at high risk for respiratory infections, and on plenty of medicines. He also has DS. We have an eligibility meeting annually. There are no set guidelines for services but they will tell you that there are....I would be happy to speak with anyone regarding this program if you would like to call me

My son currently has 5 hours of Academics

3 hours of speech

30 min PT

60 min OT

This is after years of fighting for service and it was extremely stressful for me. We lost so much valuable learning time during the battles. We need to form a group and a plan
