Well we finally got the MRI Results for and everything was

normal..what a relief. We also started physical therapy on Thursday

and the PT said she didn't think that it would take to long to get him

to where he needs to be with his gross motor skills. We scheduled 5

appointments and she will reevaluate him at that time. I am so

excited, I swear I have already seen an improvement. We also went for

our exit cast on Monday, did pretty good and Skaggs

at CT in Charlotte is wonderful. I am going to miss her! I will post

official before and after pics when I get them. I can't get enough of

his head with no helmet. Good luck to everyone just starting and

remember that in the end it is all worth it!

Tammy, that is all wonderful news! I love to hear how amazing our kids are, Amaya sounds like one tough customer! : ) 16 in cast is awesome! Heidi, Bexon's Mommy, (3 years old, in 7th cast from Salt Lake City Shriners, currently down from 62 degrees to 19.7 in cast)

Well it has been a week since we had Amaya's 1st cast on in Rochester. They did the casting and then the MRI, worse case would be we would have to remove the cast. However, her MRI is normal. This first week in the cast has gone by fast with the exception of her having bath's in the tub, going swimming, or playing in sand she has done everything she normally would. We decided to go ahead with our camping trip for the weekend and she was amazing. Amaya was tired right after we got home but as soon as we arrived at the campground she was ready to go (6 hours post). We went out on the boat that evening and she was able to put her feet in the water and she was fine with that. Night 1 was rough as she got stuck trying to roll over but after that she has been fine. This cast has not hindered her at all, she is doing everything she was before just with some modifications on her part. I followed the advice on ISOP about the hair washing and we do spa style

and she loves it. She has adjusted so well to this it is amazing, now for me to adjust..just goes to show us how resilent they are.Tammymom to Amaya 50* prior to 1st cast 16* in cast2nd casting September 16th Rochester, NY
