The school where your child is enrolled should do that, but you can double check by asking the school administration.Sent on the Now Network™ from my Sprint® BlackBerryDate: Fri, 12 Mar 2010 11:59:36 -0800 (PST)To: List 's<deniseslist >; Donna LormanSubject: renew McKay Does anyone know if you have to renew the McKay Scholarship every year? This is the first time I am using it. Thanks.

I know it is not every year, as my son is on year two. I do believe when they change schools, for instance, from elementary to middle, it is neccessary to be approved for that particular school.

If you are using the McKay Scholarship for the first time and your child is currently in public school you must go onto the McKay website and do your intent to particpate. Once you do that you have until the deadline of 8/2/10 to choose and enroll your student in a McKay approved private school. The school you choose (a participating McKay private school) will do your McKay enrollment on the McKay website.

Once you are enrolled with a McKay approved private school, the school will re-enroll your child each year you re-enroll with the school.

If you change private schools the current school withdraws you and the new school picks you up.

If you leave private and go back to public you automatically lose the McKay scholarship and you have to start from scratch....IEP process, etc. If you did your intent last year and never left public school you will need to redo your intent now to use for the upcoming 10-11 school year.

Once you leave the public school, you are unable to change your Matrix/funding level.

Hope this helps.
