It has recently been discovered that some Kirkman Lab products are contaminated with antimony, a potentially toxic metal. The only one of these products that I carried was Zinc liquid. In general, small amounts of antimony are unlikely to cause problems, and I do not know how much antimony was present in the supplements. However, it was enough that it showed up in patients' lab tests. That is not to say that it caused any problems for those children. I would not panic, but it is reasonable to stop using the identified products. You can contact Kirkman and they will refund the cost of the supplements.

If desired, we can consider testing for this and other metals. Metals testing is complex and the implications unclear. It does not need to be done urgently and would need to be discussed on an individual basis.
