I am sorry but yes, our Legislature stripped that language from the Bill late in

session.

The Bill does do some good things, but for the 4th year in a row the Legislature

refused to pass a hospital/homebound McKay option.

Program to receive a M. 7 McKay Scholarship; authorizing the Commissioner

of 8 Education to deny, suspend, or revoke a private school's 9 participation in

the scholarship program if the owner or 10 operator of such school has operated

an educational 11 institution in this state or another in a manner contrary 12

to the health, safety, or welfare of the public; providing 13 factors for the

commissioner to consider in making a 14 determination; providing a definition

for the term " owner 15 or operator " ; conforming cross-references; amending s. 16

1002.51, F.S.; providing definitions for the terms 17 " disability " and

" specialized instructional services 18 provider " for purposes of the Voluntary

Prekindergarten 19 Education Program; amending s. 1002.53, F.S.; providing 20

that a parent may enroll his or her child in a specialized 21 instructional

services program for children who have 22 disabilities if the child is eligible

for the Voluntary 23 Prekindergarten Education Program; creating s. 1002.66, 24

F.S.; establishing specialized instructional services for 25 children with

disabilities; providing eligibility criteria 26 for such services; requiring

that such services be 27 delivered in accordance with certain standards;
