Guest guest
I was sent to an Orthopod! They had me go to " Therapy " for traction and then wanted me to have cortisone shots in my neck. Fortunately the Dr. had written an order for an MRI. Worker's comp wouldn't pay for it. I submitted it to my regular insurance. In the meantime...I was scheduled with an Anesthesiologist for the shots in the neck. The MRI report came in before he did the shots. He was the one who saw that I had a Syrinx and refused to do the shots. (a tech had written about the mass prior too) Thank God for both of them. Guest guest
I have an ongoing workman's comp case since 1997. I was in a car accident while on the job injured my neck and brought on my chiari symptoms. My case was a little different in that I already knew that I had chiari and had surgery for it in 1986. I was asymptomatic until my car accident. If you are going this route I would highly recommend having some other insurance in addition to comp because I am still fighting comp to cover my medical expenses even after a judgement was made that they were responsible for 90%. This has been on-going since 1997!!! Luckily I always had other insurance (COBRA from my employer and now Medicare) and was able to have my last three surgeries. If I had to wait on comp I wouldn't have made it. in NY > Hey, y'all. > > I'm curious about something. When I post a question, sometimes I get replies to my private email, and sometimes I get replies through the group. I don't mind either way. But I was wondering if when I reply, should I reply to the group, or to each person's individual email? Obviously, if it were something that would be helpful to other people, I would want to post it to the group. But is there some certain criteria to meet to help me decide? > > Also-a much bigger issue-how did y'all decide on an nsg to treat you? How much experience should an nsg have to be considered good enough to do surgery for chiari? My nsg seems very familiar with it. I was just proud he found it at all! I will be seeing him again on Thursday. What types of questions should I be asking him? I honestly don't think it's financially feasible for me to fly off to New York to have this treated. > > Also-just one more-I promise. Anybody out there filing a work comp claim for chiari? Guest guest
Talk about trauma induced...I used a Shiatsu massager and all 'hell broke lose' 2 hours later...3 shunts later and the decompression...yeah life has been fun. I'm now on permanent disability. Guest guest
Does anybody find that when their UC or crohns is flaring that the PSC symptoms are better and visa versa? I am almost reluctant to get treatment for my crohns because I find that when it is in remission my PSC is at it's worst and honestly I'll take the crohns on any given day over PSC. Guest guest
I can't say for sure because I haven't had UC since the j-pouch surgeries in 2003, but I have noticed times when I have pouchitis that my liver is doing better. Very interesting observation! What do you think this means, any ideas? Thanks for sharing!
