Dear Advocates,

I was on a conference call this week with other advocates and Rep. Dorothy Hukill who is sponsoring House Bill 81 - Use, Prevention, and Reduction of Seclusion and Restraint on Students with Disabilities in Public Schools. Rep. Hukill is asking that Florida advocates call Legislators for their county and request that they please Co-Sponsor HB81.

If we want our children to be protected in the public school system then we need to start making those phone calls NOW! If your child has been through restraint and seclusion then you know the horrors of this subject. If your child has not been through restraint and seclusion then consider yourself lucky but DON'T wait until it does happen to your child to take action. PLEASE take action now and start making those phone calls today. Bills are not easy to pass and we are going to need as many families involved as possible to make this happen.

Please pass this on to other Florida advocates that would like to help get this much needed bill passed.
