Guest guest
To: Supporters and Sponsors of Weston Area Little LeagueRe: Weston Area Little Actions regarding children with Special Needs in the Weston CommunityAs a current or prospective sponsor I am writing to notify you of past actions of the Weston Area Little League regarding children with special needs in our community. You may be solicited for help with the League, and I applaud you for supporting our community. I wanted to make sure you had all the facts before you support this organization. I have copied advocates for Special Needs on this email, and I will be following up with them with a list of sponsors for the 2010 season. Some of the actions of the Weston Area Little League regarding our special needs children are as follows:*Neglecting to notify the City of Weston of scheduled games of the Challenger (Special Needs) League, causing special needs children to play on dangerous baseball fields.*Neglecting to provide adequate baseball equipment for practices and games for Challenger League*A League President declaring at a Weston Sports Alliance meeting that Challenger was a very successful program in no need of change with a 67% drop in year to year participation.*A League President refusing field space to a group of Autistic and Related Disability Children and then having that field space remain unoccupied.*A League President appointing a Commissioner for the program who did not participate in League Board Meetings for a year, and then reappointing the Commissioner for a second year.I hope you will keep the above in mind as you decide what youth organizations to support in 2010Regards Gordon
