Got glutened today from KFC

My daughter went to KFC today and did drive through. She got me a corn on the cob and small cole slaw both listed on their site as Gluten and Wheat free. Within 20 mins. I was in the bathroom with the back door explosions. Just a one time deal and done, so I know it was what I ate. That's the first time I've had anything from KFC since being dx'd and thought it was ok since they have a GF menu...guess not here:( Glad I was eating it at home!!!

ewww...plain boiled chicken does not sound at all appealing... and doubly so for what you had to pay for it!!

Next time maybe you can be a 'reunion crasher' after you've eaten somewhere safe show up just to hang out and reconnect with old classmates?!

And if you go into a chain restaurant and order grilled chicken (nomarinade, no spices, no sauces) for your salad... you might end upwith boiled chicken. Yuck. If I wanted boiled chicken I'd eat at home.Went to my high school reunion. $60 for the ticket! What was my GFdinner? A plate full of boiled chicken and boiled broccoli. Yuck andmore yuck. The nation's most expensive piece of boiled chicken.

I thought maybe the cole slaw was pre-packaged and would be safe and the corn being boiled but guess I was wrong... I won't be eating there again!!

my ex used to own a KFC and i worked there for a number of years. there was ALOT of flour being used in that place. i don't know how they could hope to be gluten free. i think if they really understood celiac, they would issue a warning about cross contamination being a BIG possibility.christine
