Guest guest
Hi- Sorry for your misfortune!! You should definitely reapply for SSI & long term disability. I received it within 6 months, thanks to a lawyer who suggested I do these simple things: 1.) Collect ALL medical records that document symptoms that related to chiari. Be sure to include any couseling or psychiatric records as well. I turned in 10 years worth of records! I literally had a moving box full of records. Include everything from lab work, to mri/ct/x-ray reports. Include all hospitalizations. Send in everything you can to document the problem!!! If your not sure if it pertains to it, include it! Also, you have more than chiari problems (i.e. ulcer problems) include all medical documentation pertaining to that. 2.) Make a list of EVERY doctor you have seen since your symptoms began. Include the name, address, phone number, & hospital the doc is affiliated with. 3.) Include in your records, some research on chiari from credible resources such as the NIH or NORD. 4.) If possible, get a letter from your employer stating you have been absent more than in the office (that was me!). Any type of reference letter like this that can help document your case will help. 5.) If you apply & it fails, discuss your case with a lawyer. --ie > _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp. Guest guest
Hi All, I have just one thing to add here. Make sure you make copies of all your documents and YOU keep the originals. Also make a note of the name, date , and ph# of the person(s) who recieve a copy of your files. Keep a list of all the drs., specialists, and medications you have been on and the results of taking these meds. Keep a diary of drs. & meds. Save EVERY report, record, reciept, anything that will prove your point. You never know what you might need or what they will ask you for. I made copies of every little insignificant thing and ended up needing it all. O.K. so I added three things. Sue me! Janet in Houston a Daugherty wrote: > Hi- > > Sorry for your misfortune!!
