Guest guest
I've been sharing this periodically, and we've had a lot of new members come on board recently. Its a fascinating Australian documentary about an individual who is a self-proclaimed narcissist, who turns out to rate very high on the psychopathy checklist as well. My old link to this documentary went dead, and the new link I found oddly enough took me to an (apparently) extended cut of the documentary. There is about 10 minutes of extra material in this version, and the swear words have been left in; this " director's cut " version makes the impact and the message even more chilling to me. I unfortunately see several traits in this npd/ppd individual that my own mother evidences as well, such as really letting loose with the verbal abuse when there are no witnesses around (the camera was hidden in this segment. Apparently the film-maker is not afraid of lawsuits; perhaps Australia has different laws regarding such things.) There is a fascinating segment showing a comparative real-time, computerized MRI brain scan, in which the brain of the psychopathic subject is shown to not only process emotional information differently than the " normal " test subject, the psychopathic subject is unable to learn how to control his emotions as the " normal " subject is, even though he's given several tries to do so (to the " normal " subject's one try.) So be warned that watching this documentary can be triggering for people like us who have been subjected to emotional abuse in the past, or still are enduring it, but still I recommend watching this documentary as being very eye-opening. Here's the link: http://www.ind\ iemoviesonline.com/watch-movies/i-psychopath If you have trouble with the link, the site is called " Indie Movies Online.com " and the name of the documentary is " I, Psychopath " by Ian . Its right at 55 minutes. -Annie
