Hi all -

Well - so who is up for a dead sea salt co-op?? Not doing one yet - I

haven't asked dear - AND - I JUST sent out the last of the tins on my

tin co-op YESTERDAY - so I am not QUITE ready to jump in another co-op yet!!

I do have some dead sea salts if anyone wants to trade - HEY - guess what -

it's trading day!!!! LOL

As far as almond milk soap - oh - well the only difference you want to make

to your soap batch is make almond milk - 1/2 cup BLANCHED almonds - please

make SURE they are BLANCHED - wanna know why?? So you take your 1/2 cup of

BLANCHED almonds (did I say they are blanched?) - LOL Anyway - put them in

the blender and add 1 cup of boiling water (distilled) and blend away. Then

add 1 cup cold distilled water and blend some more. Now if you want (or

need) more - just adjust accordingly. I usually do this up and add an extra

oz or two of water when I measure - this will give me the 18 oz of liquid I

need to mix with the lye.

Melt your oils FIRST - any basic recipe will do - or one you like - let them

cool down to around 100 - THEN do the milk and lye - OH - it's probably best

to make the almond milk the night before or several hours before and let it

cool and then refrigerate - so the milk is COLD. Then when you are ready to

mix with the lye - mix the lye REAL slow into the milk. Once it is all mix

in - check the temp - it shouldn't be real hot - maybe around 120 or so -

anyway let it cool down to around 110 and then mix it into the oils - it

should still be liquidy - not thick like custard when you pour - there you

have it!!
