Guest guest
Why not have the school provide some of the necessary therapies the child needs? If the teacher is not properly trained, perhaps CARD or others in the field can come in and assist. Also, mom can request a full psych evaluation. Subject: Coconut Creek Recommendation DiagnosisTo: sList Date: Thursday, January 7, 2010, 3:06 PM Hi Listmates, Need help with a referral. My friend that lives in Coconut Creek has a 4 year old with a diagnosis (by the school board) of DD but we suspect he is really PDD. Mom has CMS. Any recommendations in her area for a specialist that can diagnose him correctly. He is having an awful time in school b/c even though he is in Place Program, the teacher thinks that what we see as sensory issues, language communication peculiarities common in ASD, lacking tools to socialize appropriately, fleeting eye contact, etc..., the teacher considers "rudeness and poor parenting skills!" The stories I have heard about this teacher make me think that my 3 year old nephew has much more common sense than her! Who the heck gave this woman an ESE degree?!!! Scary! Recommendations for a GOOD therapy center that takes CMS in Coconut Creek area would also be greatly appreciated. The little one needs PT/OT/Speech and Behavior Therapy (the later one I have already told her would not be covered under her insurance though). Thanks! Guest guest
is in the class with all place students. The term " integrated place program " confuses me. Guest guest
I hear you but in reality until the student gets evaluated by the school psychologist, and then meet again for an interim, can not get services. And we all know how " fast " the school system is so I think she should get private therapy starting now.
