Have you removed all amalgam, stopped eating fish, stopped all vaccines, removed any other sources of exposure?? When using ALA it is recommended to dose every 3 hours during the day - 4 hours may be okay at night. This is one important thing you need to change. In addition, your doses are very high. Many people need to start with 12.5-25 mg doses. I suggest you drop the ALA completely for now and continue DMSA on a much lower dose as you try to figure out what is going on. If this improves the situation after several rounds, then you could consider adding back ALA at a much lower dose. High doses can stir up more metals than your body is able to eliminate. Are you using anything like chlorella or other substances that are purported to be chelators? These do not chelate and can make a lot of people worse. > The thing is that we're done with our 19th week and none of the > symptoms whatsoever are becoming the slightest bit better. Whenever you see symptoms of any kind cropping up during chelation, you need to reduce dose and identify what the problem is. I think it is very likely she has stirred up and redistributed metals to her brain and other places, causing lots of problems. If I understand you correctly, it sounds like there is a problem with speech at a mental level, but there is a separate problem with the vocal cords. The mental issues are likely due to the redistribution of metals. The vocal cord problem could be due to the high dose of ALA. A few people have reported problems with burning in the throat, laryngitis, etc with ALA. Dropping the ALA for awhile and treating the throat and stomach (it may be that stomach acid is coming into the throat) should help. > I do not understand why constructing the simplest of sentences has > become something which is alien. This group can help. Lots of people here have been chelating for awhile and we can help. One thing we notice is people try to increase dose too soon. People seem to do best if they start at 12.5-25 mg per dose, and start one chelator at a time. Stay at a dose for several rounds. If you are completely comfortable at that dose, then you can consider increasing dose a little and stay at the new dose for another several rounds. If you haven't read through the Files and Links, that will be very helpful. --

Guest guest
Hi I personally have much more protein in my diet, a portion per meal most of the time at a min 2x meat per day and oils/fats to help with elimination of toxins. Obviously you need both of these are you getting enough to meet even the recomended ammounts. The body is built on fats and proteins and yours sounds very vegetarian Also are you taking all the supplements, have you done a HMA. Phil > > Hey all > > I'd purchased dr. Guest guest
I agree with the others. Those dosages are too high. Your symptoms sound like redistribution. I also suffer from the joint symptoms you describe - its horrible and I've never found a satisfactory explanation for it. Furthermore / you are using twice as much ALA as DMSA - I don't think this is good. This is my own opinion not andy cutlers but I believe its important to keep the ratio of DMSA \ALA at about 2:1. I personally use a dosage of approx 50mg DMSA to 30mg ALA. Also try increasing fibre intake / wheat bran and apple pectin are useful. > > Hey all > > I'd purchased dr.
Guest guest
Yes, These dosages are WAY, WAY too high and are probably hurting you. As Andy says there is 'no healing crisis' with mercury detoxification and you are causing damage with such high doses, especially if your body can't keep up with the detox. I'm so glad I got to this group before I started chelating or may have started to high too, or moved too fast. Thanks to TK and others I started at 12.5mg DMSA and took it for many rounds before increasing and then adding 12.5 ALA. Even the first few rounds the side-effects were a lot, but now are unperceivable. I'm now on Round 24 and have settled at 50 DMSA and 30 ALA and don't intend going higher for a long time. Because there are no side-effects on round I know my body is keeping up with the detox. I actually feel very good most of the time now whether I'm on or off round. I used to feel much better on-round. The biggest help so far is when I decided about 3 weeks ago to add some Hydrocortisone to support my adrenals(I though they could do with a rest and so committed to a 3 month process with HC). I'm now taking 10mg per day and once again the people on this list were 100% correct. The support makes a HUGE, HUGE difference. It is almost as if the body requires extra cortisol while you chelate to fix damage and I definitely recommend it especially in the beginning. Maybe you should consider slowing and lowering the dose of chelation and taking some HC to settle your adrenals? In South Africa it is known as Covacort. Two others I know started with ALA and could not even tolerate 12.5mg due to excessive symptoms. 200mg is a very dangerous amount and you should really bring the dose down a lot. Keeping going at that rate could cause permanent damage. Dean > > Hey all > > I'd purchased dr. Guest guest
I'll chime in here too and say your dosage is WAY TOO HIGH. Also, have you checked your copper levels? If its high, using such high levels of ALA may be making you retain copper - not a good thing. Also, something which I don't think is stressed enough by Andy is supporting your endocrine system before you start chelating. The smart folks here (tk,linda, stephanie) have wisely advised me to do this first. My saliva test results came back with adrenal problems. So, although chelation would probably help my adrenals it would tax them so much in the process that I'm not sure what the end result would be?? This is all unfortunately a rather complex, multi-step process for those of us who have been poisoned for years and years. But the folks here are so knowledgable and helpful - AND FREE- so keep posting and don't give up. Val

Guest guest
Hello :-) I do understand the doses are high but, unless i had read wrong, dr. cutler had said in his book (apologies , it's pg 90, not 161 ) 50 - 100 mg of dmsa and 50 - 200 mg of ala My sister's lost a very large and horrifying sum of joint fluid so everytime she takes a step, i can hear her bones 'crunch'/grind against one another. Has yours improved any ? I'm starting to feel panic settling over me (can't play professional sports if i don't have my joints working ! :-( ) We do eat between 50 - 100 g of porridge, and consume about 3 - 5 fruit a day excluding vegetables. Both of us have gluten intolerance, we had tried wheatbran but it didn't go down too well. Thanks so much for replying. > > > > Hey all > > > > I'd purchased dr.
Even if the ALA is not causing the acid problem, it is acidic and could be exacerbating your sister's symptoms. I still think it is an unnecessarily high dose and you will both do better if you drop it for several rounds until you figure out what the problem is. The 3 hour dosing of ALA is also important. Guest guest
Hi, Well my joint issues started about 4 years back when my hip started to hurt and pop for no apparent reason. Slowly over the next year this expanded to include my sacro-iliac joints, and lower vertebrae. it stayed fairly stationary until i was put on chelation (bad protocol of 500mg every 2nd day). At that point my joints got lots worse. Particualry hands shoulders and jaw. Since I've been on andy's protocol its slowly getting better. That said I haven't been able to exercise really for about 2 years - thou recently I have been able to swim and run a little bit. Cycling is fine thou - no pressure on the joints - i just don't like it !! Good luck. > > > > > > Hey all > > > > > > I'd purchased dr. Guest guest
Just a shot in the dark and off the wall here, but clicking joints, arthritic problems, trouble speaking words, brain tremours, MS symptoms, high acid are classic symptoms of Lyme Disease. Could that be a possability? Chelation can cause " Herxing " as a result of stirring up lyme bacteria. I know as that happened to me. Have you both been tested for Lyme? It is hard to diagnosed though, as many lymies show up negative on testing. Lyme Disease is called the great imitator as lyme is often misdiagnosed as a host of other conditions such as MS, fibromyalgia, arthritis, or chronic fatigue syndrome. Just something to think about. As this is OT feel free to e-mail me personally if you would like more information on this. V > > Hey all > > > > > > I'd purchased dr. Guest guest
Hi Gosh thanks for the words, hurt and pop is exactly what's happening. I'm becoming really worried that I'm going to dislocate my hip. You have no idea how frantic i become when i bend slightly to pick something off the floor only to hear this constant popping sound. I really wish someone could guarantee that I'd become 100 % again. Good luck to you too, wish you all the best. > > > > > > > > Hey all > > > > > > > > I'd purchased dr.
