Update on the Rojas family dogs--not MS-related/ DO NOT COPY TO OTHER GROUP OR PERSON, Please!

As many of you know, I own four wolf-dogs (hybrids) who arecurrently residing at the home of my dear friend who has MS,Edna, and her elder son, who live nearby.The most energetic of the "pups," 10-year-old Two Moons(white quarter moon above each eye), recently had surgeryto have a giant benign cyst removed. She has recoveredjust beautifully. It will be a miracle if Edna's son survivesall this, as you will read.So, Two Moons' stitches are out; the plastic cone aroundher neck and head is off and she is tearing around the place; fortunately, they own two lots of land! The twoother "pups" are joining her in play. However:Now, the mother, OOKI, (Aleut for "Talks a Lot") who isonly 18 years old (126 in human

years), and has beendiagnosed with metastasized cancer YEARS ago, isfinally on her way out. . .appears to have had a stroke,cannot move since yesterday, and Edna and son aretrying to find a way to euthanise her at home--which wouldbe legal in Oregon and in many other states, but is not here.So, I had told some of the residents and friends in my apartment building about this. One guy, noting that a resident hadrecently succumbed, just arrived with enough morphine to takedown a tiger; he somehow got the building manager to let himinto the deceased's apartment and just brought it to me. I just peeled the name off each and every one of the thesevials. Edna and I are both diabetic, so we have syringes.You get the picture: The son really wants to do this, but Ednawants to wait. Meanwhile, the poor son is killing himself takingcare of the poop, the pee, and feeding the

dog soup with one ofthose plastic tubes with a squeeze bulb at the end (for suctioningthe fat off broth, stock, meat juices, etc). OOKI appears to wantcompanionship, but not to be in pain, but is largely paralyzed.I told them that they would have to decide between them, but that I wanted the stuff (medicine) out of my place, so I have just delivered it to them. Edna's son is busy digging a gravein the yard. I rather think that in about three days OOKI shallhave passed on to wherever doggies/wolves do after death."Bulletins will be issued."Love to you all, fromn, "a dog nut," not a "doughnut!"
