Guest guest
Lynne, We just got our first denial from BCBS in MD. It doesn't look good for us either. What is the big deal with these physicians not wanting to say OR write the words, "medically necessary???" The pediatric neurologist wrote a prescription saying, "DOC head band" out of her prescription notepad and faxed her notes stating that she recommends the band but will not be accountable for the words medically necessary! Our son's pediatrician wrote a lame letter stating that he sent our son to a neurologist who recommends the DOC band but he too, will not use the words, "medically necessary." Come on doctors - Say it with me, "MEDICALLY NECESSARY!" I simply don't get why these physicians won't stick their necks out. In the meantime, I'll keep fighting!
