Guest guest
Hi le, Oh, good! I hope my son's clears up on it's own by 9 months as well...it's sure no fun to deal with (for him OR us!). Yes, we find the Aveeno (with oatmeal) is the BEST for our son. Everything else seemed to aggravate him but this does not. We were told the ONLY thing we could use to clean the inside of my son's band is alcohol. We use 91% alcohol and a toothbrush and then let is dry under a fan or in the sunlight. This seems to do the trick with the odor problems! (It stunk quite a bit at first but now it seems to be ok!) We thought my son's eczema had cleared up before he got the band, but since he's worn the band it has come back with a vengeance! We have been removing the band only at bath time and once each morning for a few minutes - both times we rub the 1% Hydrocortisone Cream into any trouble patches and wait for it to fully absorb/dry before we put the band back on. (This advice was given to us both by our OT and our pediatrician.) This seems to at least keep it under control... Please don't hesitate to contact me directly if you have any questions - I'm so happy to help! Do you find the aveeno baby wash is gentle enough and works well? We're still about a couple of weeks away from getting the helmet. What do you use to wash the helmet? I heard it can get rather smelly :)Any advice would be greatleOlathe Kansas>> > Hi le,> > We were told, and I've read many times, that most children with eczema > actually thrive in the band - their condition all but clearing up!
