I understand your frustration, . We, too, are insured through UHC and have been told we have no coverage due to an "orthotics exclusion". Of course, we intend to fight this tooth and nail, however we went ahead with CT in the meanwhile so as not to delay my son's treatment.

I wish you the very best of luck in your battle - it IS amazing how we pay out the you-know-what to our insurance company and then when you REALLY need them, they don't come through. So sad and discouraging... :(

Please do let us know how it comes out for you.

Best,

Mommy to Wes - 5 months old - DOCband since 3/10 - Dallas, TX

Hi,Thanks to all who responded to my post.DME was covered for us but not.....the DOC band. We could go to an Ortho company and have it covered but they won't cover CT. We chose to go with CT no matter what. We are waiting for an answer from UHC at the moment and are getting the run around. They told us Friday we would have an answer by Mon and then Mon we were told....."Oh it could take up to a year" Go figure. We are calling every day to be annoying until we get an answer. When we first stared the process CT told us the Doc band wasn't covered but UHC told us it was. After further research we found out it wasn't. This is so frustrating and crazy. We all pay for insurance but when we need it....tough luck. Will let you know if anything changes. For more plagio info
