Guest guest
I was at the pediatrician yesterday and wanted to comment on some things: Vaccinations: I actually got mad yesterday over this and cried when they shot my son! :-( I have 3 teenage sons and at the most, they were given 2 shots at once.......my baby got 4 shots in the thighs yesterday and would have gotten a 5th if I had not gotten my husband to agree to atleast research this new one before giving it to Dean. I was outraged!!! Doesn't this seem excessive to anyone else but me? Anyone know anything about the new shot called " pneumococcal conjugate " vaccine? Cradle Cap: The doc yesterday actually told me to take some Selsun Blue shampoo, straight from the bottle, and wipe it on my babys head and forehead and then wash his hair for his cradle cap. Or to use another chemical, the fungal stuff for like athletes foot and stuff, on his facial skin for the cradle cap that sometimes gets on their faces. WHAT THE !@#$%^ & * ?!?!?!?! I sat there listening and couldn't believe what I was hearing. Needless to say, I did NOT go buy either of those products for Dean. I did however ask the doctor how he felt about more natural products like the Herbs for Kids " Craddle Cap/Skin Support " oil I have and he basically said he didn't know much about " natural stuff " but it was ok to try as long as it didn't cause any harm. Well, I tried it last nite, and there was still some flaking on the sheets last nite in the babys bed, but I wouldn't expect it to go away over nite and even the doc himself said the selsun blue wouldn't work overnite. Sleeping Habits: The doc wants me to put Dean (9 weeks old tomorrow) on a sleeping habit/pattern. He wants me to bathe him right before he goes to bed, to put the same music on for him to hear, to pull him off the breast before he falls asleep, to put him in his bed so he can make himself fall asleep, and do all this at the same time everynite. He thinks that if I don't do this, Dean will become spoiled in a few months and will keep the family up all nite, atleast thats the way I understood it. I do NOT believe that a baby at his age should be put on a sleeping schedule and I didn't appreciate his attitude. How does everyone else feel about what he told me?
